Claire and Wouter’s Wedding

Date: Saturday 28th May, 2011

Location: Settlers, Mulgoa, NSW

Photographer: Cindy

Claire and Wouter started their wedding day by meeting prior to the ceremony for a few photos, due to sunset being early that day. It was a gorgeous autumn afternoon when they met in a field not far from their venue, Settlers at Mulgoa. As soon as they saw each other, it was all smiles and I think the nerves melted away for a while. We got some lovely natural and romantic photos in a spot fringed by trees, and with beautiful daisies on the ground. Then Wouter and I drove off to Settlers, for some photos with his parents before the ceremony. This was very special for the couple, as they had travelled from South Africa for this occasion.

Claire and her father were all smiles and laughter coming down the aisle, as he whispered “You are terrible Muriel” as they started their walk to calm her nerves. It was a beautiful and emotional ceremony, as Claire read her vows in both English and Wouters native tounge, on a scroll they had prepared specially for the day. Walking down the aisle they were showered with petals, and then we relaxed with drinks, canapés and a few family and group photos were taken.

The guests were ushered inside and we had a few minutes to capture some private shots around the grounds at Settlers before sunset. Claire and Wouter were very relaxed and we got some lovely images using the venue Settlers many backdrops. They then were welcomed inside by their friends and family in a standing ovation of clapping and cheering.

Thank you Claire and Wouter for having me capture a day that I’m sure we will all remember, and I wish you a wonderful life together!
