Rachel and Raj’s Wedding

Date: Friday 11th March, 2011

Location: The King’s School & Springfield House, Dural, NSW

Photographer: Cindy

Rachel and Raj’s wedding day began with a few drops of rain as I started with our dressing photos at Rachel’s parent’s house. This did nothing to dampen the spirits of Rachel and her 3 bridesmaids as they were in high spirits as they had their hair and make up done inside. After Rachel got into her beautiful gown, I took a few photgraphs of her and her parents, and then it was off to the church to meet Raj.

I arrived at The King’s School chapel to find Raj and the boys arriving as well. The chapel had been chosen as Raj had been a student there. Raj was in a great mood and a few photos (and laughs!) with the boys, they moved inside to wait for Rachel. Rachel and the girls arrived in 2 beautiful white mustangs from Sydney Mustangs, and it was a special moment as her dad helped his only daughter from the car.

Inside the ceremony was traditional, but also personal as Raj could hardly take his eyes from Rachel as soon as he saw her walk down the aisle. Afterwards I took a big group photo outside of all the guests, and then we went into the ground for some bridal party photos. There were some beautiful sandstone buildings and an aviary and we got some romantic and candid shots as Raj showed us all his fun personality.

It was lovely to work with such a relaxed group of close friends, as they obviously were very close to Rachel & Raj. After a couple of refreshments supplied by Sydney Mustangs, we were off to the reception.

Springfield House in Dural was the venue chosen to celebrate this occasion, and from the time of arrival Rachel and Raj’s every need was catered to perfectly. We had our family photos in the foyer, and it was very special as we had 2 proud grandmothers there. After some fantastic speeches, to which Rachel’s dad brought out a childhood toy of Rachel’s that had everyone in hysterics, the cake was cut, and Rachel and Raj did a beautiful choreographed dance  for their guests. It was a fitting end to a day that could only be described as “fun”, so thank you Rachel and Raj, and I wish you an amazing life together full of laughter!
